In an appeal to Hadi...Activists from Socotra show the tampering of the UAE in Socotra

Activists from Socotra archipelago have uncovered many practices carried out by the United Arab Emirates on the island.
 
Almawqea post received an appeal by these activists to President Abdrabu Mansour Hadi, in which they confirmed the looting of Socotra's entire wealth of stones, fish and animals, pointing out that an Emirati businessman bought many strategic sites in the Socotra archipelago and documented the governor Ben Hamdoun Al-Saktari.
 
"Socotra Airport and its port, which was taken over by Khalfan bin Fadil bin Rashid Al Mazrouei (Bu Mubarak), representing the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation for humanitarian work in Socotra, replaced their guards with UAE forces and with large support and collusion of the governor of Socotra and the expulsion of the previous guards.
 
Fake projects
 
The appeal pointed out that the province of Socotra is passing by a dangerous turn, pointing out that the UAE is razing all the monuments, animals and trees. "The preservation of the tourist island and its unique heritage is a national duty and the responsibility of all."
 
Socotra's coasts, ports and tourist environment are vulnerable to looting, tampering and selling, by the Emiratis and the Iranians, who recently entered Socotra in the name of the UAE for providing the support,who the activists described as a liar,.
 
They said that the UAE's Bu Mubarak called for the establishment of a small seaport with the support of the governor of Socotra.
 
Dismissing any violator of UAE
 
The appeal referred to the dismissal of the Director General of Socotra Port because of his refusal and his insistence on inspecting the large funds that transports Socotra's heritage. He also refused to transfer port revenues to accounts and personal names by Emirati request.
 
According to activists, the port of Socotra today receives giant vessels containing empty boxes, to transfer the stones and trees and wealth of the island of various kinds.
 
 The letter appealed to President Hadi to intervene urgently to stop the governor who messed with the assets of Socotra, in exchange for money and armored cars given to him by the UAE.
 
 Misinformation
 
The letter pointed out that the coast of Socotra had been demarcated along the entire port line, which had previously been stoped, but now owned by the Emirati (Bu Mubarak) who bought the entire coast from the personal owner of the land, which he claims to be his right. Ben Afar is the only ostensibly owner of the land and coast from the port to the factory owned by (Bu Mubarak) UAE.
 
They pointed out that the "Bu Mubarak" protected the place and placed the guards of Indian nationality trained by the UAE, and put cameras surveillance, and prevent the lack of access to the place and the port so that they can download and transfer valuables, and they said, "boats were brought to facilitate the transfer from the stores to Large sea vessels ".
 
Bribery
 
"Bu Mubarak has paid a million dirhams as bribes to the governor of Socotra, pointing out that the port received in the three months since Governor Ben Hamdoun was appointed the largest naval fleet to transport everything that is beautiful and precious in Socotra.
 
The activists pointed out that containers, locomotives and heavy planes operating 24 hours to excavate the effects, saying that the governor is an accomplice with the Emiratis and mislead the media by his decision to stop the construction of the beaches, while construction continues every day, in all parts of the island's beaches.
 
The letter pointed out that Bu Mubarak, the representative of the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for humanitarian work, didn't only takeover the coasts of Socotra located in the city of Hadebo, but also seized large areas in the most important areas of the island, in the regions of (Daksim and Nogd)in the southern strip of the island, in fact he made naval courier to facilitate the process of entering his personal vessels, and all this with the consent of the governor of the Socotra.
 
Acquisition of electricity
 
In the electricity sector, Bu Mubarak stripped all employees of the former Electricity Corporation of their jobs and turned it into a personal project as an investor with the approval of the governor. An account was also created in the name of the governor to transfer revenues in his name and to turn them into accounts for Bu Mubarak.
 
Activists said that the governor of Socotra had sacked the electricity director because he refused the calls and dictates of Emiratis to appoint someone else supporting of the Emiratis.
 
 The control of the airport
 
About the Socotra airport, the letter explained that it had been completely taken over. The port guard were guarded by an Emirati guard and prevented entry without the approval of airport operations chief Saeed Al-Kaabi and his cousin Sultan Al-Kaabi.
Activists stressed that Socotra airport was completely devoid of state authority, and the authorities of all public agencies at the airport were stripped of pressure and threatened by the governor because they did not respond to the Emiratis' request.
 
 Activists added "Today, the main gates of Socotra are outside the authority of the state,", saying that the airport receives two flights a week from Emirates which comes empty and returns loaded and does not allow the passengers of Socotra boarding to travel.
 
The activists demanded President Hadi to intervene urgently, the resignation of Governor Ahmad ben Hamdoun Al-Socotri, who messed with Socotra in the four months and handed over its wealth to the Emarati (Bu Mubarak).
 
Foreign employees
 
The letter said that Bu Mubarak had set up special warehouses and offices for the port, electricity and airport in Socotra, and brought with him Indian and Syrian officials responsible for these offices.
 
They pointed out that the Emarati investor has cut roads to tourist places that were protected and forbidden to open, and today opened by the UAE official for the transport of Socotra rare environment.
 
The director of port, electricity, airport, immigration and passports was dismissed under the request of the Emarati investor and replaced by managers who had been trained for months in the UAE by Bu Mubarak.
 
The activists blamed President Hadi and the governor of Socotra for what is happening to Socotra.
 
Activists talked about a land previously purchased by the leader of the central security forces, Yahya Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, in the best beach in Delsha tourist area, which was directed by the governor of Socotra, which was arrested after the protest of the residents and the sheikhs in 2007.
 
Appointing pro-coup figures
 
Activists said that despite the takeover of the land in 2007, the governor of Socotra tookover it under the direction of Sana'a and under the supervision of his secretary-general appointed by the Houthis, who is the general director of Haidibou,(Mohammed Abdullah Salem Deksmi).
 
Activists say that the governor didn't only sell land and hand over ports to the UAE, but appointed in the positions of the province people who are still members of the moment to the Houthi group and fall in favor of the coup.
 
The documents revealed that the head of the operations room in the governor's office was a follower of the ousted Saleh, showing a picture of him participating in the festival of the seventy to bless the agreement between Saleh and Houthi.
 
They pointed out that the special secretary of the governor and also the head of the operations room in the current province Saeed Ahmed Mohammed Al-Asimi.
 
They pointed out that Al-Asimi receives guidance from Sanaa and facilitates the process of direct coordination between Sana'a and Socotra.
